Wellmade Design - Company Research

CGR 115

Once again, researching a company when doing either redesigns or designing for them is very important, so I am going to look into this company to see what information would be important to know about them, especially if I wanted to work for the company. The founder is Elizabeth Eadie, and she has a very diverse selection of services that they design for. Some of her clients are start up businesses that need brands or logos, non-profits like Project-X and American Cancer Society, and consumer products companies such as Twentieth Century Fox that needed packaging design.

This company offers both digital and print services. For web design they offer the following:
  • Easy to update WordPress websites
  • E-commerce
  • Web banners, ads and headers
  • Blog design
They also offer a wide variety of additional website-related services such as SEO keyboard placement and adding social media to WordPress sites. As for their graphic design services, they offer the following:
  • Stationery system
  • Post card design
  • Advertisement design
  • Case study design (to pdf)
  • Packaging design
  • Style guide layout, design and production
Lastly their logo design and branding services include:
  • Logo design
  • Identity System
  • Business Card Design
  • Branding for Social Media
This company certainly services a lot of platforms of design and have had a lot of different types of clients that have a lot of types of design work done for them. Their types of clients differ from doctors offices, photographers, financial advisers to mobile app developers. Having such a wide variety of clients means that you have to really understand the types of clients that you are working with and know who you are marketing towards.

Designing for a design company is kinda difficult, you never know who your clients are going to be, you have to account for all the different types of platforms you'll need to advertise in, and having to ensure that you own branding and design is what will draw people towards you in the first place, as well as showing your skills as a start up designer.
