eBay is a very well known company for online trading, yet their website is pretty bland with a lot of white space. The overall organization of the site is nice I think, but it only has a little bit of color in the top. As I've previously said, I like sites that draw a lot of attention because of their color, organization, and affects, and this site isn't very attention getting. The top picture bar is nice, I think it adds a nice touch, but other than that, the entire site doesn't add any graphics or anything else interesting. I suppose they would rather allow their products to speak for themselves, but I still think adding more color, a more noticeable logo and better graphics for the site. This is a very bland site for my taste but it is effective in that it draws most attention to the products rather than the site itself. The best sites though morph both graphics and products into a more creative layout, color scheme and overall design. As a well known company, so it doesn't have to worry as much about drawing attention, but as for the design part of this site, it lacks.
The logo though I think is interesting, original and is simple enough to be easily remade, and put onto a lot of forms of advertisements. The navigation on the site though is pretty straightforward, making it easy to find what you want quickly without too much strain. The coloring on the logo is about the only coloring in most of the site and I think they should focus maybe on tying the colors of the logo into the color scheme of the website as a whole. Doing this will help draw attention to certain parts of the website, while getting ride of a lot of the blank space on the site. Important text should keep a white background for easy readability, but for backgrounds and sides, they should utilize more coloring.
