Instead of only looking at country cd covers, I'm looking at different
types of music and wha their cd covers look like, whether they are
photos, graphics, images, or just text. CD covers are always different,
but because my CD's are fake, as is my artist, I can't design my CD
based on the theme of the songs, or the purpose of the CD, and this makes the designing process a lot harder. Usually I would base my
designs on whatever the type of music was, or what the album was suppose to be about, whether its about home, love, friends or what. Without knowing this, I am just trying to look at other CD designs and see if there is anything I can make similar to them. These are different things that I want to maybe use in my CD cover, or try to incorporate in the different covers. Using images as my background isn't new, but making the image black and white, or making the image and creating the entire cover in illustrator without using any photographs. I already have a CD cover with an image as the background, one CD with an image included, but it isn't the entire background. I am thinking of trying to make a CD cover with nothing but graphics that I have made myself rather than a picture that I took. Since the music is suppose to be country, I am trying for a more nature oriented type of picture, but since I need to make six different covers, I need some more variety than that allows.
The two covers on the left and right are both made on the computer, not taken photographically, but instead created. This gives the cover a different look, but my only problem is that I don't know if that type of cover would work really well for a country artist, because depending on the design, I just don't know if it would still look country enough. Either way, these are a lot of different types of CD covers that I could use to design my covers, but I unfortunatly some of these I might not be able to work really well without loosing the main focus of the music, the country aspect to it.
