Industrial Cd Cover Designs

For this next project, I am designing the flyer for the Kinetik music festival which showcases industrial, electronic and related bands, and so I am researching into the designs styles usually used for this kind of music and audience.

These are some of the images that came up when I typed into Google Images Industrial Cd Covers. One thing that I notice is that a lot of these bands use very little color in their designs, a lot are just black and white, or black, white and variances of gray. Others have some color, but still a pretty limited color palette. Like many band covers though, some are just made up of a photograph and then they tack the name of the band on it, but several of these are more digitally made images, which I find very cool.
The cover to the right is Metal Head - Industrial Soundz, and this cover follows the basic color palette, it uses only variances of gray, black and white with only minimal light blue for added affect. They also used several textures in their design instead of just basic colors, but they seemed to have digitally made this entire CD cover on the computer, instead of just taking a photography and working off of that. The font and type usage though is kept to a minimum, but it seems to be a common look for type for this genre as well. Its bold, but with some edge to it making it a little more interesting of a font. To the left is the CD cover for suicide commando, which is one of the bands that will be in the Kinetik festival and that I am including in my flyer. This follows my idea of the basic black and white limited color pallet, they only use red for some accent in the CD cover name, and everything is graphically made, no pictures, just basic symbols and text.
