What I like about this is the coloring in the background. The layout is good, the border around the main information brings more attention to it, and the spacing in the text at the bottom makes it look more airy and easy to read. When advertising in a magazine, too much information unless its an article usually pushes readers away, so using very light looking text draws more attention and make sit more appealing for readers to want to look at. The big picture in the middle draws a lot of attention because of its bright coloring as apposed to the darker colored background. The same goes for the logo, the bright red and white pop out against the dark green and blue background. The textured look for the background also brings a lot of attention and adds to the picture. All in all I think its a very appealing ad for a magazine and I would stop to look at this for a few minutes at the very least.
