Things We Make Portfolio

This is the website portfolio for the Things We Make. This is a company that does web design, graphic design and illustration. They also have other examples of their sketchbook and logos that they have done. What I don't like is that they just have their work listed vertically down the side with no distinction or prompt for any of the work. The point of a portfolio is to display your work in a pleasing way that shows your skills. The perfect website portfolio is one that is a design in itself, while still showing the best of your artwork as well. The things that I like the most is the way they did their name at the top and the background. Other than that I don't think they did a very good job at displaying their artwork to their best.

The coloring and everything I'm not sure I like, I like that it contrasts the background so strongly but it doesn't really fit very well. The organization of their display is kind of confusing because once you click on the topic, such as web design or graphic design, another menu pops up to show the name of the artwork, but that isn't clear at first, and as my teacher says, when designing a website, you have to make it simple enough for the stupidest people.
The picture to the right shows the Graphics and Illustration page, this shows some of their work and a small description at the bottom. It also shows the project name and the client that it went towards. I like the information on the page but not the way it is organized at all. I think it is kind of unorganized and not clear, plus the multiple colors are kind of confusing and way too many of them.
