On the bottom of this page, he uses the long list of links at the bottom for the not as important links, but I just think that most of the site is boring and the structure is seen on so many different websites. He uses the plain blue background, that though goes well into his logo, still seems very plain to me. One thing that I really wanted to look at though was what he put on his page of information for his newest book that came out.

James Patterson, creative author, but uncreative website
James Patterson is a famous author who has written many successful books over the years. I wanted to look up his website because for my class, I am making a promotional website for one of my novels. I wanted to see what kind of information is on an authors website and what kind of layouts that they use. To be honest, the basic layout of this website, I find a little boring. It has a very structured layout that I find a little uninteresting, but what I do like is the logo at the top. I like the image that he blended into the basic background behind the main part of his site.

He uses the plain blue background, that though goes well into his logo, still seems very plain to me. One thing that I really wanted to look at though was what he put on his page of information for his newest book that came out.
As you can see above, on his page, he simply puts when the books go on sale, and then a description of the book, as well as the different options, either in reading some of the book, or what type of format it is available in. It also shows an image of the book cover. I like his set up in the fact that is shows all of the basic information that is most necessary as well as separates each book from one another, but I still think that overall the layout is boring and uninteresting. It doesn't seem to drag a person's attention to the page or the books at all. I will probably use the same type of information on the site, but I will try to make mine more eye popping and interesting.
